Tocmai m-am intors de la Iasi si, dupa un drum de 430 km si doua sedinte in banca pana pe la 5:30pm, cea mai buna relaxare parea a fi aranjatul cartilor in biblioteca. Nimic nu poate fi mai odihnitor ca ordonarea cartilor si a hartiilor in micul meu corp de biblioteca. Totul s-a terminat insa atunci cand am regasit o mica brosura distribuita la un eveniment din 2012: “The power of storytelling” – the second annual Bucharest Narrative Journalism Confference, hosted by “Decat o revista”.
Jacqui Banaszynsky e un reporter si editor cu peste 30 de ani experienta. Jacqui a scris in materialele ei despre concursuri de frumusete, papi, SIDA, expeditii cu sanii trase de caini si despre tabere de refugiati. In cadrul conferintei, Jacqui Banaszynsky a vorbit despre “WRITING ON THE ROCKS, WRITING ON THE STARS” si despre “STORY STRUCTURE”.
In brosura pe care am gasit-o in aceasta seara, ea a scris despre “STORIES MATTER – good stories can change the world”. Articolul ei se termina astfel: “Stories are our soul. Write and edit and tell yours with your whole selves. Tell them as if they are all that matters. It matters that you do it as if that’s all there is”.
Jacqui aduce, in articolul ei, in existenta, un alt text deosebit – un citat din Tim O’Brien,The Things They Carried: “Stories are for joining the past to the future. Stories are for those late hours in the night when you can’t remember how you got from where you were to where you are. Stories are for eternity, when memory is erased and there is nothing to remember except the story”.
